Restaurants in Paris

For dinner you’ll need some restaurants in Paris now that you’re stuffed full of sightseeing and culture.

The good news is that there’s no shortage to choose from, starting with right outside your hotel – or even within it if they offer an evening dining experience, though most hotels don’t.

Restaurants in Paris vary widely in price and menu but during your roaming earlier in your day some might have caught your eye.

Dining is an international experience in Paris and you are by no means confined to French cuisine alone though this is probably what you’re seeking on this trip.

For restaurants in Paris the list is so long we couldn’t possibly hope to complete it here.

However, it is worth offering definitions found online of some words the French use:

Café – serves limited simple snacks, open early morning to early evening. Wide range of drinks.

Bistro – small, intimate, low-key, casual neighborhood hostelry offering typically French fare, lunch times may be 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner 19:30 to 24:00

Brasserie – large, open, informal restaurant serving simple hearty food from a long menu, open many hours

Restaurant – serves any kind of food, prices and ambiance can vary greatly, opening times as for bistros

For each of the above just ask at your hotel Reception desk for their recommendations of the best local ones.

They’re by far the best placed to offer you advice on dining locally and they may have some views on restaurants in other arrondissements or boroughs also. Bear in mind that many of the places you so enjoyed that lunch in may also be open for dinner and if you picked up their business card, leaflet or still have hold of your bill then you may consider venturing along again there for your evening meal – though not necessarily on the same day.

In terms of the more exotic (though why would you do it when you’re already in France?) it’s probably best to make a table reservation:
