It’s hard to beat Paris holidays for memorable trips. As the world’s most visited capital it is compact enough to be able to whizz all round it on the speedy and efficient Métro system and with strict planning laws in place for tourists to savour Paris holidays it is virtually free of architectural eyesores.
The city is split into 20 districts or arrondissements spiraling outwards from the centre. The Right Bank is famous for shopping, museums such as the Louvre, and the Pompidou Centre, the tourist hotspot of Montmartre and the majestic Champs Elysees leading up to the Arc de Triomphe.
The other side of the Seine is known as the Left Bank and contains the city’s most famous attraction: the Eiffel Tower, the Latin Quarter with its network of medieval lanes webbed around the boulevards St Germain and St Michel. On neither one bank nor the other but dumped in the middle of the Seine is Ile de la Cité which contains the cathedral of Notre Dame and the prison of the Conciergerie where Marie Antoinette as well as other top figures in the Revolution were imprisoned before taking the short trip northwest to Place de la Concorde to have their heads delicately removed.
Within other sections here on Paris you will find out the the delights of Le Musée d’Orsay (the best Impressionist art collection on Earth), about the man who hated the Eiffel Tower so much he used dine there as often as possible, how to get the most out of your trip to the graveyard or the sewer, where to stuff yourself with chocolate, while away the hours in the two most famous Parisienne department stores, got broke on your first visit to a designer label shop or pick up all the unwanted junk you every yearned for at a flea market.
Following this you can choose a spot for a rooftop beer or cocktail while enjoying an panoramic view of the city and then if international cuisine is on your menu there is information on Chinese, Indian and Italian restaurants; for French ones just ask at your hotel reception desk. For dinner entertainment truly French you could try the Moulin Rouge or the Paradis Latin and ogle at the female topless dancers after dinner – all in the best possible taste.

Read MoreSo….what differentiates 5 star hotels in Paris? The biggest noticeable difference is room space. 5 star hotels in Paris have bigger bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas than lower starred properties. This is mainly because the lesser stared hotels are converted historic townhouses whereas 5 star hotels in Paris are either purpose-built or much larger commercial buildings. Oh and you’ll also probably have an onsite restaurant possibly headed by a famous chef, safes in all the bedrooms, English as a standard spoken language, room service and maybe a swimming pool and gym, along with outstanding care and attention.
