He acquired a premises that came with an unexpected bonus: it also housed a small travel agency. Juggling both businesses initially, he soon realized that his true passion lay in connecting people with the wonders of travel. The choice was clear, and Arrow Tours was born.
Pioneering European City Breaks
In 1970, Arrow Tours made history by introducing Irish holidaymakers to something new and exciting: European city breaks. At the time, the idea of a weekend getaway to a bustling metropolis was revolutionary. Travelers had the choice of two iconic destinations—London or Paris—for the unbeatable price of £29. This package included a return flight, three nights in a centrally located three-star hotel, and even a large bottle of champagne in the room.
These pioneering efforts not only marked a milestone for our company but also helped open up the joys of international travel to a wider audience. Since then, we’ve expanded our offerings and continued to evolve, bringing the world closer to home for our customers.
