Hotels in Rome

For you we’ve a great selection of hotels in Rome to pick from. Your hotels in Rome are found in many different areas within the centre of Rome or around the Vatican itself and we choose them according to their location, the star rating and overall reviews. You do not want to head off on your weekend break and find the hotel is 40km outside the city centre! Nor do you want to stay in a property that has zero stars awarded to it.  If you use our map view option on the website you will see precisely where your hotels are located – but they are all central. If you need some assistance in choosing your hotels in Rome city centre  just phone our staff here in Arrow Tours on 041 983 1177.

Hotels in Rome – we have broken down the city into smaller sections in order to make it easier for you to navigate your way around both Rome and our website. Below is the layout of how our hotel options work.

Campo Dei Fiori

Nestled in the bend on the east of the river Tiber, the hotels in Rome in Campo dei Fiori (Field of Flowers) lie midway between the Vatican and the Colosseum and make an excellent base from which to explore the city. Among our most popular are:

Ponte Sisto Hotel – 64 Via dei Pettinari; 4 star, elegant, comfortable and modern.

Hotel Indigo Rome St. George – 62 Via Giulia; 5 star, mini-gym, sauna, Turkish bath, large hot tub.

Lunetta Roma – 68 Piazza del Paradiso; 4 star, 150m east of Campo del Fiori

Colosseum Area

Leave your hotels in Rome 2,000 years ago as an ancient Roman citizen and for the morning go to the Roman Forum where daily discourse on politics takes place in front of you as well as trade and commerce for your fellow average citizen. Then in the afternoon head next door to the Roman Colosseum where gladiators fight sometimes to the death or where war prisoners are executed for your amusement and that of the crowds and royalty.

Irish College Area

The hotels in Rome around the Pontifical Irish College are in the southeast end of the city. If you’re getting married in the chapel of the Irish College during your trip then these hotels in Rome you might consider staying at include:

Eurostars Saint John Hotel Rome – 30 Via Matteo Boiardo; 4 star, some inter-connecting rooms, minimalist style, lounge-bar.

Best Western Hotel Piccadilly – 122 Via Magna Grecia; 3 star, about 1.5km south of the Irish College, self-service Corner Bar in the lobby open Mon-Sat 18:30-21:30.

Pantheon / Piazza Navona

Hotels in Rome within the Pantheon and Piazza Navona sphere leave you close to these spaces. The Pantheon means Temple of all the Gods but is now a Catholic church. Piazza Navona is built on the site of what was once an ancient sports stadium, though any evidence of this is now long gone.

Your hotels in Rome here include:

Colonna Palace Hotel – 12 Piazza di Monte Citorio; 4 star, roof garden offers panoramic views of the city.

Hotel Imperium Suite Navona – 19 Vicolo della Palomba; 3 star, beside Ponte Umberto bridge, on arrival the hotel provides you with a map of Rome – though Arrow Tours will send you one before you travel if you book flight and hotel, just ask for a map.

Piazza Del Popolo

Towards the north hotels in Rome are likely to position you near Piazza del Popolo. It is a very large area and means the Peoples Square. If you copy and paste the phrase into our booking engine then hotels in Rome that will pop up for you include:

River Palace Hotel – 33 Via Flaminia; 4 star, 200m north of Piazza del Popolo, many different room types to choose from.

Hotel Centrale – 34 Via Laurina; 3 star, 150m south of Piazza del Popolo, up a quiet pedestrianised cobbled street.

Spanish Steps/Trevi Area

Very popular among tourists for hotels because of the international attraction of the Spanish Steps themselves and their 138 treads; also home to the museum of Romantic poets Keats and Shelley who travelled here from England and died young. The designer brand shopping streets of Via dei Condotti, Via Borgognona and Via Frattina where you can go broke in a matter of minutes due to the designer prices.

Termini / Quirinale Area

This is the main concentration for hotels in Rome because it is close to Termini Station which is the hub of the city serving outlying regions throughout the country by public transport and well as being the focal point for the tram and metro system around the Eternal City. You will find hotels in this district to meet all budgets and styles and our booking engine is very easy to navigate. Three of our best sellers are the Windrose Hotel, Artemide Hotel and the Quirinale Hotel.

Trastevere / Gianicolo

These hotels in Rome are on the left or south/west side of the River Tiber; Trastevere means ‘beyond the Tiber’ because this is how an ancient Roman would have viewed the area when he was standing in the Forum on the right or north side of the river. Gianicolo derives its name from the god Janus and hotels in Rome here are close to the Vatican. Among the offering are:

Starhotels Michelangelo Rome – 14 Via della Stazione di San Pietro; 4 star, directly south of St. Peters Square and St. Peter’s Basilica, facilities include room service, bar and restaurant.

Hotel Santa Maria – 2 Vicolo del Piede; 3 star, garden, rooftop solarium, free bicycles for city exploring.

Vatican / St Angelo

Is to the west of the River Tiber and around here pilgrims may stay who’ve come to visit the very core of the Christian Church. It is steeped in history over 2,000 years old and houses the working attractions of St Peter’s Square, St Peter’s Basilica, and the Vatican Museums holding such artistic masterpieces as Michelangelo’s Pieta, the Sistine Chapel and the statue of Laocoon & his sons being engulfed by a serpent.

Veneto/ XX Settembre Area

To the north of Termini Station, the tree-dappled boulevard of Via Veneto is one of the most well-known presented by Rome and is famous for being the place to be seen and the main hub to Rome’s café culture. In the 1960’s it was a favourite among international jet-set movie stars and was the setting for director Federico Fellini’s movie La Dolce Vita. The Savoy Hotel is one 4 star Hotels in this area, if you are thinking of treating yourself.

To the east of Via Veneto is Via XX Settembre and we offer you plenty of 3 and 4 star hotels for you to pick from on our map view for Rome hotels in the booking engine. Check out the Gambrinus Hotel.

Villa Borghese

The hotels in Rome in this area place you near the largest central open space of the city containing a networked array of parks and gardens and is in the northern part of the Eternal City. If you choose this option on our website then among the hotels in Rome you will see are:

Panama Garden Hotel Rome – 336 Via Salaria; 4 star, on the eastern edge of Villa Ada – another park north of Villa Borghese, bar & lounge, gym, guests’ garden.
